Firefighter Graduation Ceremony

Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016 (Halifax, NS) – Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency (HRFE) wishes to invite the media to attend the winter graduation of its newest career recruits.

Sixteen firefighter recruits have been busy training over the past three months, and are now ready to be rewarded with their black helmets.

This class of recruit grads boasts a plethora of diverse backgrounds, including former volunteer firefighters, paramedics, and an RCMP officer.

All 16 recruits will begin work next week at various E-Platoon stations across the municipality, from Sheet Harbour to Black Point.

When: Friday, Dec. 9, 2016 (2 p.m. to 3 p.m.)
Where: Dartmouth East Community Centre – 50 Caledonia Road

The new firefighters have had to endure a battery of testing, training and other rigorous procedures with exacting standards in order to successfully join HRFE.

The in-field training began on August 29 and wraps up with Friday’s graduation.
