Fires Update, Thursday, Aug. 11, 8 p.m.


Following is a provincial fire update for Thursday, Aug. 11, at 8 p.m.

— fire crews made significant progress today
— the fire at Ten Mile Lake, Queens Co., is now 100 per cent contained
— the fire at Seven Mile Lake, Annapolis Co., is 45 per cent contained
— all other fires are 100 per cent contained. Some are still being patrolled because conditions remain very dry
— Trunk 8 remains closed due to active water bombing
— travel and activities within the woods remain restricted. People can still access beaches and provincial parks, but trail systems are restricted and the fire ban remains in effect
