Environment Canada release:
First significant snowfall of the season expected in Nova Scotia, excluding extreme southwestern regions. Total snowfall may reach 10 to 20 cm, with locally higher amounts possible, spanning from Sunday night until Monday night.
Past similar storms have led to hazardous driving conditions, school closures or delays, and cancellations of scheduled activities. This is due to a low pressure system tracking south of Nova Scotia on Sunday night, bringing heavy snowfall that will continue into Monday.
However, extreme southwestern regions of Nova Scotia may experience less snowfall, as precipitation there is expected to be mainly rain. Residents are advised to stay updated with alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, contact NSstorm@ec.gc.ca or use #NSStorm on Twitter.
