HRP release:
Five people are in custody following a shooting in Halifax on Friday evening.
At approximately 5:50 p.m., officers responded to reports of an assault involving weapons in progress on Intercolonial Street in Halifax. Prior to police arrival, further reports were received that shots were fired.
All involved fled the scene but were quickly located and arrested. Charges have not yet been laid.
One person is in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have closed Intercontinental Street, Hood Street and a section of Kempt Road as the investigation continues. The public is asked to avoid the area.
