RCMP officers have arrested a 30-year-old South African woman following an incident on a flight earlier today.

At noon today, Air Canada flight 869 was diverted to Halifax Stanfield International Airport due to an unruly passenger.

The A330 aircraft, holding 239 passengers, was traveling from London, England to Toronto, Ontario.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a female passenger allegedly assaulted two flight attendants during the flight. The woman was arrested and is in police custody. The investigation is ongoing.
