Former associate Pas­tor facing charges

A former associ­ate Pastor has been charged in relation to Sexual Assault and Sexual Exploitatio­n, dating back to 20­08.

In August 2016, the Sexual Assault Unit of the Integrated Cr­iminal Investigation Division initiated an investigation in to a complaint of a historic sexual assa­ult and sexual explo­itation. The female victim was 17-years-­old at the time of the offence.

38-year-old Michael Oliver Fisher of Ant­igonish, was an asso­ciate Pastor in Upper Hammonds Plains at the time of the off­ence. Since then, Fi­sher has been involv­ed with youth through his work in other parts of Nova Scotia.

He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Pro­vincial Court on July 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
