RCMP Eastern Traffic Services have apprehended and charged four people with stunting.
On Thursday May 28th, the RCMP Eastern Traffic Services Unit charged a driver with Stunting. The 17-year-old female from Antigonish County was stopped on Highway 7 in Ashdale.
She was travelling at a rate of speed of 143 km/h in a 90 km/h zone.
Then on Friday, a 17-year-old Pictou County male was charged with stunting on Hwy 104 near Westville. The youth was travelling 165km/h in a posted 110km/h zone.
On Saturday, two adult males, one from Pictou County and the other from Prince Edward Island were charged for stunting following a suspected road rage incident in Telford, Pictou County. One was attempting to pass the other at 172km/h and the other sped up to 158km/h in an attempt to not prevent the vehicle from passing. Both drivers were charged with stunting.
All four drivers face a fine of $2418.00 and a seven-day suspension of driving privileges. The involved vehicles were also towed and seized. Aggressive Driving is one of the leading causes of serious injury and fatal motor vehicle collisions in Canada.
