The South Shore Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit along with the Bridgewater Police Service General Investigation Section and the Criminal Intelligence Service Nova Scotia (CISNE) conducted a targeted vehicle stop in Oxford at approximately 5:00 p.m. Saturday and arrested the four occupants of the vehicle for drug trafficking offences.
As a result of the vehicle stop approximately 1000 methamphetamine tablets were seized along with a quantity of cannabis marijuana.
Based on intelligence gathered during the investigation officers determined the drugs were destined for Lunenburg County.
Cody MacDonald, 28, of Bridgewater has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.
Mitchell Leblanc, 23, of Halifax is charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance and Breaching a Conditional Sentence Order.
Both men have been remanded into custody and will appear in Amherst Provincial Court on January 11 at 9:30 a.m.
Charges are pending against two adult females who were released from custody.
The South Shore Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit was also assisted by RCMP Federal Operations in New Brunswick, the Cumberland County Street Crime Enforcement Unit, and the Oxford RCMP Detachment.
The investigation is continuing.
