Police arrested a man yesterday in connection with a shooting that occurred last November in Halifax.
On November 3, 2012 at 2:15 a.m, Halifax Regional Police responded to several shots fired in the area of Robie Street and McCulley Street. A 48-year-old taxi driver was driving north on Robie Street with a male passenger when his vehicle was shot at from another vehicle. The suspect vehicle, a small silver car, fled the area and no one was injured during this incident.
Yesterday at 9:03 a.m., investigators with the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation Section arrested 24-year-old Shea Alexander Durnford in Fairview without incident. He was held in custody overnight and will appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face the following charges:
CC 239 – Attempted murder (2 counts)
CC 267(a) – Assault with a weapon (2 counts)
CC 244 – Discharging a firearm with intent (2 counts)
CC 244.2(1) (a) – Discharging a firearm – reckless endangerment to the life of another person (2 counts)
CC 117.01(1) – Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order
CC 85(1) (a) – Use of a firearm in the commission of an offence
CC 86(1) – Careless use of a firearm
CC 86(2) – Unsafe storage of a firearm
CC 87(1) – Pointing a firearm
CC 88(1) – Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace
CC 92(1) – Possession of a firearm without license
CC 94 – Unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon in a motor vehicle
Also charged in this incident are Kirk Michael Wright, Everett Douglas MacNeil and Kyle Douglas Shipley.
Investigators are still looking for a fifth man in relation to this incident and November 15, 2012, a Canada-wide arrest warrant was issued for 26-year-old Andrew Jason Hudder. He has been charged with attempted murder (two counts), assault with a weapon (two counts) and nine weapons related offences. He is described as a white man, 6’1”, 165 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes.
Hudder is considered armed and dangerous and members of the public should not approach him or try to take matters into their own hands.
