A fourth person has been charged in connection with a murder and attempted murder on Clifton Street in May.

On May 25 at approximately 8:40 p.m. Halifax Regional Police responded to a weapons call at 2711 Clifton Street in Halifax. Two men, one armed with a handgun, broke into the residence, where two occupants were shot. Corey Dwayne Lucas was pronounced deceased at the scene, and a second man, 31, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and later released.

Last month, a man was charged with first degree murder and attempted murder and a woman was charged with accessory after the fact. Earlier this week, a man was charged with first degree murder and attempted murder; however, those charges were withdrawn and he was charged with accessory after the fact.

Yesterday morning at approximately 10:45 a.m., 27-year-old Jason Matthew Halsey was arrested without incident in Clayton Park. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of first degree murder and attempted murder. At this time no additional arrests are expected; however, investigators with the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit are still interested in speaking with anyone who has information about this case who has not already spoken with police.
