Free Concert to Celebrate Symphony Week

Nova Scotians are invited to attend a free concert Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Province House, in celebration of Symphony Week and Culture Days.

Symphony Nova Scotia, with conductor Peter Oleskevich, will perform highlights from the upcoming concert season.

The concert also features Artem Kolesov, a Dalhousie University violin student, who will perform the Finale to Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto.

“Symphony Nova Scotia is an important part of our cultural community, and this concert will feature some of the province’s finest musicians,” said Michael Laffin, manager, House of Assembly operations. “I encourage Nova Scotians to visit Province House and enjoy the beautiful sounds of the symphony.”

The concert is from noon until 12:45 p.m., in the Red Chamber, Province House, 1726 Hollis St., Halifax. Light refreshments are provided, or bring a lunch and enjoy the music.
