With the first official weekend of summer bringing concerts, festivals, and celebrations, the NSLC is reminding all Nova Scotians to plan ahead and not drive impaired. To help drive the point home, the NSLC is partnering with Halifax Transit to offer free rides across Halifax Regional Municipality on Friday, June 26, from 6 p.m. to the end of service, helping people get home safely.
Free rides will be available on all Halifax Transit services, including buses, ferries, and Access-a-Bus, on a busy summer night as Halifax kicks off Halifax Music Fest.
The initiative is part of the NSLC’s Safe Rides program and supports its responsibility campaign, What Are You Willing to Miss?, which encourages Nova Scotians to plan ahead, not drive impaired and choose a safe way home.

Date & Time: Friday, June 26, 2026, from 6 p.m. to the end of service.
Location: Halifax Regional Municipality, wherever Halifax Transit operates.
