**** Halifax Media Release
The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists of sponsored free on-street parking, with two hour restriction, available tomorrow in designated areas of downtown Halifax and Dartmouth.
The municipality has entered into a sponsorship agreement with Atlantic Lottery Corporation (ALC) for a one-time rental of designated meters. ALC will be placing green bags over select meters in pre-determined zones (see images attached) overnight tonight and into tomorrow morning.
Free on-street parking with a two hour maximum duration will be available at bagged meters only from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow, May 14. All other meters are active and subject to parking enforcement. If a meter is not bagged, per the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Act, an operator must pay for the time and rate specified.
