Parts of mainland Nova Scotia and western Cape Breton are currently under a freezing rain warning.

The weather event is expected to last overnight tonight until later Thursday morning. This weather transition will start with rain, shift to freezing rain tonight, and eventually turn into ice pellets by Thursday morning.

The main concern with this weather pattern is the potential for ice accumulation on various surfaces. Highways, roads, walkways, and parking lots may become treacherous due to ice build-up, posing risks for both drivers and pedestrians.
