Get Motivated Series: Yoga Weekly Challenge

Due to the overwhelming response to my suggestion of weekly challenges, I’m making an official post about it all.   Starting Sunday, July 25th,  I’m going to practice yoga for seven days straight.  Who’s with me?

I thought I’d kick the series off with yoga because its relatively low impact and anyone can do it.  Plus, I really enjoy how relaxed I feel after a great stretch session. 🙂

I plan to make use of Yogadownload.com – I’ve got tons of the free 20 min sessions, along with several 45 mins ones, a few DVD’s (excited to finally try Jillian’s!) and I may even book a class at 108 Yoga since I still have some freebie sessions left over from this past winter.

Also, for all you locals out there – Moksha has opened a new location in Dartmouth and they’re offering FREE CLASSES all next week.  Several people have mentioned this to me, so I thought I’d pass it along.

If you’re interested in participating in the challenge, please leave a comment below.  I will post a list of everyone taking part and we can cheer each other on.

Yesterday I got some exciting news!  I’ve been asked to participate in a project the Downtown Halifax Business Commission is launching, “Big Day Downtown.” Basically I’m going to spend a day exploring, shopping and dining downtown and then blog about my experience.  I’m pretty excited!  There’s a launch party next week where I’ll get more details. 🙂

Alright, so I made it to the weekend!  So glad we took tomorrow off, I’m feeling very burnt out and can’t wait to have 3 days of nothing. Well, maybe a little cleaning and yard work but not much else.  Okay, well fun stuff too, like tennis, reading and a movie. 🙂 Hehehe!

I went grocery shopping after work today and snagged a big box of fresh peaches that I can’t wait to dive into!

Oh, I’ve been avoiding ice cream because it seems to be one of my trigger foods, instead I’ve been cooling off with banana soft serve or one of these… (I re-stocked today.)

Chapman’s Super Fudge Chocolate Malted Ice Milk. Not a bad little treat for 120 cals/2 WWs points.

I don’t know about you, but after a long work week I never want to cook on Friday Thursday evening.  While I was shopping, I picked us up the ingredients for a quick and easy Supper.

Butter Chicken w/ Caulifower & Naan

The hubby and I are huge Indian food fans.   I knew that I couldn’t go wrong with his, he walked and and said “something smells good!” LOL!  I purposely didn’t make basmati rice to go with the meal.   We were already having naan and there was no need for more carbs. He didn’t even notice.  😉

I took 4 cooked chicken breasts, chopped and mixed them with a diced tomato, 1/2 a chopped onion and then simmered in PC Blue Menu Butter Chicken Cooking Sauce. Easy peasy.

This was SO good!

I’m a huge fan of PC Blue Menu products.  They provide lower calorie/fat/sodium options without lacking taste.  The chicken was a hit!

Had plain steamed cauliflower with the chicken instead of Aloo Gobi.

And, of course naan!! Why is bread so good?
