Get ready to celebrate Canada’s 149th Birthday

Tuesday, May 31, 2016 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is gearing up to host a variety of celebrations in honour of Canada Day, on July 1.   Put on your finest red and white and explore events being held across the region, beginning with free pancake breakfasts in both Halifax and Dartmouth. Participate in the official Canada Day ceremonies and sing Oh Canada at the top of Citadel Hill, and don’t miss the Maple Lodge Farms Family Fun Festival on the South Halifax Common.   The excitement continues into the evening at Alderney Landing in Dartmouth with the biggest free outdoor concert of the year, featuring Dear Rouge, Born Ruffians, Yukon Blonde, Reeny Smith, and Kid Koala. End the day with an incredible fireworks spectacle set off from the Halifax Harbour, produced by the Village Shops at Dartmouth Crossing.  Check out www.hrmcanadaday.ca for full event details.
