#GIVINGTUESDAY

With the holidays just around the corner it can feel like you have a million and ten things to do to get yourself and your family ready. The holidays are bananas at best, but they’re also a time to remind us to give back or pay it forward. There’s nothing I love more than giveaways, but sometimes a bottle perfume, or a new brand of hair spray just isn’t necessarily what that person needs right now.

This holiday season not only am I trying to incorporate more practical giveaways (gift cards that you can spend at your own leisure, winter coats to keep you warm etc) I’m also giving away a huge portion of my personal hats, scarves, mittens, jackets, boots, and anything else I can scrounge up. I thought about doing another blogger closet sale, but I figured what the heck this will make someone’s day! I’ve already donated bags and bags of goodies just recently, but I want to make sure the items keep people warm, so I’ll definitely be doing it again.

My mother loves knitting, and although her gifts are near and dear to my heart I realize that the excess of these items aren’t necessary, and I feel bad that they sit there unused.

My mother is the kind of woman who would give you the shirt off her back even if that meant she went without. Even growing up we didn’t have much money, but she always made sure we were warm, and well fed, and even brought in our neighbors time and and time again. I know that she would be happy to know they have a happy home.

In honor of #givingtuesday I’ve partnered with Old Navy, and for every #unselfie you post today Old Navy will give $1 to the Boys and Girls Club of America up to $25,000. Let’s make it happen !! How are you giving back this holiday season?
Post an #UNselfie to Twitter or Instagram today on #GivingTuesday (December 1, 2015) and tag @OldNavy and Old Navy will donate $1 to Boys & Girls Clubs of America up to $25,000.
