Gluten and Dairy Free Protein Pancake Fail

My protein pancake recipe is one of my most viewed pages on this site.  The pancakes are delicious and the recipe is simple, easy and quick to make. The only downfall with them is that there’s dairy and wheat in them and since I’m not eating dairy or wheat, I can’t eat them. Well this weekend I tried to make my own modified version because I was craving them. They aren’t 100% Paleo, which is how I’m eating these days, but they were as close as I could come up with on the fly.  I removed the cottage cheese, removed the wheat germ, I doubled the oatmeal and used a vegan whole food protein called Vega Sport Original, berry flavour.  They were not good! I don’t actually blame the removal of the dairy and wheat for the poor taste, I blame the protein.  The Vega Sport Original is very gritty, the berry flavour isn’t very good and it’s GREEN, which in turn, turned my pancakes GREEN.  I’ve heard that it’s being discontinued and replaced with a newer better version of the sport protein, but as for this one, I do not recommend cooking with it as it completely took over the flavour and ruined the pancakes.  I ate them anyway because I eat everything, but I wouldn’t make them again. So now I’m on the hunt for a gluten-free and dairy-free protein pancake.  Don’t suppose you’ve got one? And while I’m at it, I’m also on the hunt for a dairy-free protein if you have any suggestions.  Preferably something with a good taste.  I had a sample of the new Vega Sport protein in chocolate and vanilla and quite enjoyed it, but some other suggestions are more than welcome. Lastly, if you’re able to eat dairy and wheat, make sure you check out my original protein pancake recipe. It’s pretty sweet, especially with chocolate peanut butter protein from ALLMAX.  ...
