Government Commits to More Access to Information


Government’s commitment to improve access to information through the launch of a website for submitting freedom of information and protection of privacy (FOIPOP) requests and a new disclosure log is progressing.

Starting today, Nov. 24, individuals and organizations making FOIPOP requests will be notified that the information they are requesting may be eligible to be posted online in January, after it is released to them.

Personal information and confidential business information will not be released online.

Government committed to launching the website during Right to Know Week in September. Nova Scotia will be the third province to have such a website when it launches in January.
