Government’s annual campaign in support of the United Way will begin this week with dozens of swimmers crossing the Halifax, Sydney, Pictou, Lunenburg, and Yarmouth harbours and the Strait of Canso.
More than 60 swimmers will participate in the Halifax Harbour swim.
Wednesday, Sept. 5:
— Sydney – Fiddler’s Wharf near the Big Fiddle, 74 Esplanade, 8 a.m.
— St. Peters – St. Peters Provincial Battery Park, 10110 Grenville St., 11 a.m.
— Pictou – The Hector Quay Visitors Marina, 87 Caladh Ave., 4 p.m.
Thursday, Sept. 6:
— Halifax – Bishops Landing, 1475 Lower Water St., 11 a.m.
— Mahone Bay – Mahone Bay Civic Marina, 681 Main St., 2:30 p.m.
— Yarmouth – Killam’s Marina, 96 Water St., 6 p.m.
The Halifax swim will be broadcast live on the provincial government’s United Way Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/unitedwaynsgov/
