The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development is seeking feedback from parents and families on the strengths and challenges related to child care.
An online survey is now available for input on accessibility, affordability and programming. Early childhood educators, child-care centre operators and partners are also encouraged to fill out the survey.
Focus groups for these participants are also underway across the province.
“We have a good child-care system in the province, but we can and should always do better,” said Karen Casey, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development. “We need to hear from early childhood educators, families, operators and partners to ensure we have a full picture of how the system is working in order to respond to concerns of those who use and deliver the service.”
The review of the child-care sector was announced in January. Consultations will continue throughout the spring, and the department will then compile a report of the findings and recommendations to present to the minister.
