Thursday, November 28, 2013 (Halifax, NS) – Residents are invited to join Mayor Mike Savage, Kelly Regan, Minister of Labour and Advanced Education and MLA for Bedford, HRM Councillors, and recreation leaders to the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Bedford Hammonds-Plains Community Centre.

Saturday, November 30, 2013 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m., with remarks and ribbon-cutting at 3:00 p.m. 202 Innovation Drive, Bedford

As part of the opening, residents can participate in Zumba, yoga, and dance, or unleash their creative talents and paint a miniature canvas. Demonstrations in rhythmic gymnastics, judo, and hip-hop dance will be showcased throughout the afternoon.

Guided facility tours with Recreation staff will be available to explain the different recreation programs offered at the centre.
