Thursday, March 12, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that a block of Granville Street in Halifax will be temporarily closed to vehicle traffic this weekend to install a crane at a nearby construction site.
Starting at 7 a.m. on Friday, March 13, Granville Street will shut down to vehicles between Sackville Street and Prince Street and remain closed until 7 p.m. on Monday, March 16. The block will not reopen overnight.
There will be no parking on Granville Street for the duration of the closure. Crews will accommodate access to the underground parking garage on Granville via Prince Street only.
Pedestrians will have limited access to the sidewalk on the east side of the street during the closure. There may be times when the sidewalk will need to be closed completely for short periods to ensure public safety.
Motorists are encouraged to find alternative routes. The municipality apologizes for any inconvenience this closure may cause.
