Great Canadian Gaming Corporation has extended its contract to operate Casino Nova Scotia on behalf of the province for a second 10-year term.

The Nova Scotia Provincial Lotteries and Casino Corporation announced today, June 23, Great Canadian Gaming exercised its option to renew the contract.

“Great Canadian Gaming has been the operator of Casino Nova Scotia in Halifax and Sydney since 2005,” said Bob MacKinnon, president and CEO of the provincial lotteries and casino corporation. “This is good news for the province as Casino Nova Scotia is a major employer and one that makes many contributions to the economy and community, both direct and indirect.”

One of the terms of the amended contract is a commitment by Great Canadian Gaming to make a $10-million capital investment in the casino properties by the end of 2015.

“Great Canadian Gaming Corporation is invested in the success of our province and we look forward to continuing our partnership with them,” said Mr. MacKinnon.
