Green Smoothie Bowl

But you had all the ingredients to make a smoothie bowl all along my dear…

I’d been seeing the whole smoothie bowl phenomon happen all over my social media and for some silly reason it never crossed my mind to make one despite having ALL the ingredients on hand.
Not only are smoothie bowls beautifully crafted they are also extremely healthy for you. With ingredients like chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, and fresh fruit and greens this smoothie bowl really is a power house in terms nutrients.
While this smoothie bowl is stunning (if I do say so myself) it actually isn’t difficult at all to put it together. With just a couple of ingredients you too can create this delicious work of art.
As an avid smoothie enthusist of course I didn’t follow a recipe, but basically you can create your smoothie base of choice, and simply sprinkle with your favorite toppings. You can use anything from granola, nuts, seeds, fruit, to coconut.  Below is what I used to create the smoothie bowl you see here, but it’s by no means a “recipe” so much as a guideline.
INGREDIENTS
2 handuls of spinach
1 handful of fresh or frozen mango (about half a cup or so)
1 scoop of protein powder (I used Quatro’s vanilla)
almond, soy, or cashew milk (just to cover the blade)
5 or so ice cubes (I like it cold)
Toppings
unsweetened coconut
raw pumpkin seends
walnut pieces (raw)
almonds
DIRECTIONS
Blend your smoothie ingredients starting with the almond (or milk of choice), blending the spinach and mango until smooth, and adding the ice cubes and protein powder last.
Add your blended smoothie to a bowl, and simply top with your ingredients of choice.
And that’s it! Much like you can make a large batch of smoothies you could do the same here, and have your smoothie bowls prepared, and ready for toppings when you start the day. Here’s my go-to smoothie recipe >> Green Machine Smoothie. Sometimes I also go ahead and add protein powder and matcha green tea powder to add a little boost.
I don’t know about you blog reader, but I’m always looking for new ways to eat healthy, and I have to stay I’m pretty excited about this one.
Hope you enjoyed this post 🙂 not much of a recipe, but it’s a good start if your interested in creating a beautiful smoothie bowl.
