At 3 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop of an older model gold KIA Spectra on Prince Albert Road. The stop was initiated in light of recent violence in the community that has resulted in the officer not only recognizing the driver, but also knowing that his driver’s license was revoked. As a result of the traffic stop, a loaded handgun was located in the vehicle and the man was arrested without incident.

A 31-year-old man from Lawrencetown remains in custody and is expected to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court tomorrow to face weapons related charges.
