A highlight of summer in Nova Scotia, the 31st annual Halifax Busker Festival takes place on Halifax’s Waterfront starting on Wednesday, August 2 until Monday, August 7, 2017.
The festival is excited to announce Bell Aliant has come on board as the event’s Presenting Sponsor. As part of this new partnership, Bell Aliant Fibe TV1 will be on site every day, capturing all the fun and filming the shows, which will be available to watch online at buskers.ca and on Bell’s community channel.
Electrifying international and local performers will take to five stages along the Halifax Waterfront for six days of incredible entertainment, including: soccer ball superstar Victor Rubilar (AR), acrobat Reuben DotDotDot (AUS), strong man Mighty Mike (Nova Scotia), contortionist Bendy Em (UK), bucket drummers Rhythm Works (CAN), dancers Beat The Streets (AUS), physical comedian Sharon Mahoney (CAN), living statues Silver Elvis and Jenny Juniper (CAN) and fire performances by the ever popular FlameOz (AUS). More performers will be added to the roster in the coming weeks.
A new addition to this year’s festival is the Nova Scotia Marquee Stage. This stage will highlight Nova Scotia talent in a variety of forms, and provide the opportunity for local artists to be seen and enjoyed by thousands festival attendees. The performance line-up for the Marquee Stage will be announced in the coming weeks.
Each end of the waterfront will feature action-packed shows, from Historic Properties and the Nathan Green Stage at the Ferry Terminal, to Sackville Landing at the Wave and the Rotary Stage at Bishop’s Landing. East Coast Amusements Midway also returns to the festival with carnival rides and games.
Produced by Premiere Entertainment Group, the Bell Aliant Halifax Busker Festival is sponsored by Bell Aliant, Waterfront Development, C100, Virgin Radio, Historic Properties, Southwest Properties, City of Halifax, Province of Nova Scotia, Canadian Heritage, and is supported by the Atlantic Busker Festival Society.
