Halifax District RCMP concerned about motorcyclist behaviour

On May 10 at 7:10 p.m., a member of Lower Sackville RCMP was on patrol on Sackville Dr. when he noticed a motorcycle speeding up the inside lane. The police officer estimated the motorcycle to be travelling at 90 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.

The police officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, and the motorcycle slowed down, then sped up, doing several wheelies in front of the police vehicle, and speeding off. This happened a second time, where the motorcycle slowed down for the police vehicle, then abruptly sped off. The police officer was concerned about the aggressive driving the driver displayed, and is attempting to locate him.

Anyone who has information about this incident is encouraged to contact police at 902 490 5020 in the Halifax Region, or 800 803 RCMP (7267) outside of Halifax. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you can also contact Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or text TIP202 + your message to ‘CRIMES’ (274637) or submit tips by Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca.
