Cole Harbour RCMP are investigating an arson that occurred in Lake Echo.

At 8:08 p.m., Cole Harbour RCMP were contacted about a fire which had just occurred near a business in Lake Echo.

Halifax Fire extinguished a vehicle fire in the 2700 block of Highway #7 which was considered suspicious.

Further investigation at the scene led investigators to believe the vehicle was intentionally set on fire. A 61-year-old male was arrested and later released on a Promise to Appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on Oct 1st 2014.

The investigation is continuing.
