Halifax District RCMP investigate attempted robbery, Hammonds Plains, N.S.

Halifax District RCMP responded to a 911 call of an attempted robbery earlier today.

At approximately noon today, Halifax District RCMP responded to a 911 call from a residence on Yankeetown Rd.

where occupants of the residence were confronted at their door by two men with a firearm. One of the homeowners pushed one of the suspects then closed the door and called police. The suspects fled the scene in a newer model black pick-up truck. Multiple RCMP patrols converged on the scene, located the suspect vehicle and occupants and arrested both suspects without incident within minutes of the initial call. Two males, aged 47 and 48 years, have been taken into custody. A firearm was seized during the arrest.

The General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are leading the investigation, and are being assisted at the scene by the RCMP Forensic Identification Section. The investigation is continuing.
