Halifax District RCMP Investigate Suspicious Circumstance – Lawrencetown

Halifax District RCMP is looking for a suspicious person after a driver approached a young girl in Lawrencetown yesterday.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. yesterday, a van stopped on Conrad Rd. in Lawrencetown and the driver asked a lone 11-year-old girl if she wanted a ride. The girl declined and ran away, and the vehicle left the area.

The girl was not able to get a good look at the driver, and was only able to describe them as a white person. The sex of the driver was also not identified. The vehicle is described as a rusty, older-model blue or grey minivan, with a flag and some other items hanging from the mirror. The girl also reported that she may have seen the same vehicle in the same area the night before.

Police are asking anyone with information about these incidents or the suspect to call Halifax District RCMP or Halifax Regional Police at (902) 490-5020 or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can also text TIP202 + your message to ‘CRIMES’ (274637) or submit a tip by Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca. Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers qualify for a cash award.
