Halifax District RCMP investigates rash of property crimes, Cole Harbour, N.S.

Halifax District RCMP is investigating a series of 15 property-related crimes involving the use of spray paint.

On Sunday, May 31st at approximately 8:30 a.m., RCMP in Cole Harbour were called to Castlewood Drive to investigate an incident where unknown culprit(s) spray painted an indecent image on a vehicle.

While en route the officer observed that several vehicles on Castlewood, Autumn Place and Colby Drive had been spray painted. In some instances vandals painted a graphic indecent image but in most cases just a line of paint was deposited. Both orange and brown spray paint were used and in total 15 vehicles and one garage door were vandalized. These crimes are believed to have occurred after midnight Saturday and into early morning Sunday.

RCMP is urging anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in these areas or have knowledge of these crimes to report it. Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers qualify for a cash reward from $50 – $2000.
