Halifax District RCMP investigates vehicle fire, Porters Lake, N.S.

Halifax District RCMP is investigating a vehicle fire that occurred sometime overnight on a logging road off Alps Rd. in Porters Lake.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., an area resident discovered a vehicle on fire on a logging road off of Alps Rd.

in Porters Lake. The resident immediately contacted Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency, who then contacted police.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle, a 1971 Chevrolet C10 Super Cheyenne truck, was the same vehicle that had been reported stolen from the Steak & Stein restaurant parking lot at 6:30 p.m. on Portland St. yesterday in Dartmouth. That theft is currently being investigated by Halifax Regional Police.
