Halifax District RCMP is investigating a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian in Eastern Passage

Halifax District RCMP is investigating a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian in Eastern Passage this morning.

Just after 7:30 a.m., Halifax District RCMP responded to a collision between a small car and pedestrian at the intersection of Main Rd. and Morris Ave in Eastern Passage. The pedestrian, a 41-year-old man from Porters Lake, was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The pedestrian was in a marked crosswalk at the time of the collision. However, due to a power outage, the over-head crosswalk lights were not functioning.

The driver of the vehicle has been issued a Summary Offence Ticket under the Motor Vehicle Act for failing to yield for a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

The investigation is continuing.
