Halifax District RCMP is investigating a fatal collision in Lower Sackville.

Shortly after midnite, RCMP responded to a motor vehicle collision on Hillside Ave where a 2009 Honda Civic, with 4 male occupants, struck a parked Mercedes-Benz cube van. As a result, a 42-year-old man from Lower Sackville and a 48-year-old man from Prince Edward Island, were pronounced dead at the scene. A 25-year-old man from Bedford was transported to the QEII with serious non-life threatening injuries.

The driver, a 26-year-old man from Lower Sackville, was not injured. He is currently in police custody and is facing charges as a result of the investigation. Given the investigation is in it’s early stages, charges have yet to be determined.

An RCMP Collision Analyst attended the scene while the road was closed for several hours. The investigation is ongoing.

Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this difficult time
