Halifax District RCMP are asking any witnesses of yesterday’s fatal motor vehicle crash on Highway 7 to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
At approximately 2:35 p.m. yesterday, the Musquodoboit Harbour RCMP detachment responded to a single vehicle crash at 6095 Highway 7, near Mary Etta Dr.
The passenger, a 40-year-old Dartmouth man died in the crash. The driver, a 45-year-old Dartmouth man, was not seriously injured. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
RCMP believe the vehicle involved in this crash passed a dump truck on Highway 7 moments before the crash. Investigators are asking the driver of the dump truck, or anyone else who may have witnessed the crash, to contact them as soon as possible by calling 902-244-7208.
As well, Halifax District RCMP is asking anyone who may have witnessed this crash, or has information about the crash, to contact the RCMP non-emergency line at (902) 244-7208, Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), texting TIP202 + your message to ‘CRIMES’ (274637) or using Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca. Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers could qualify for a cash reward of $50 – $2,000.
