Halifax District RCMP responded to two motor vehicle collisions on Saturday, September 23.
Prior to 11 a.m., RCMP responded to a single-vehicle collision on Hwy 224 in Upper Musquodoboit. Initial investigation determined that a 33-year-old man was travelling eastbound when the 2003 Toyota Tacoma truck he was driving crossed into the opposite lane and entered the ditch where it struck a culvert and rolled over. The driver, who was the lone occupant, was ejected from the vehicle and landed in a brook. He was transported to the QEII hospital with serious injuries.
The investigation is continuing.
Shortly after 4:30 p.m., RCMP responded to a single-vehicle collision on Peggy’s Cove Rd. in French Village. A 2012 Ford F150 left the road and struck a utility pole. The driver, a 64-year-old man, was not injured. The investigation determined that alcohol was a contributing factor which resulted in the driver being issued a 7-day driving suspension.
