The Halifax District RCMP Stetson and Spurs Youth Program is now recruiting new members.
Are you or a youth you know interested in learning about policing in your community? Youth leadership development? Public speaking? Conflict resolution skills? If so, Halifax District RCMP has the program for you.
The RCMP Stetsons & Spurs program consists of youth who must be in junior or senior high at the time of registration (Grade 6-12). The youth will assist their local communities through pro-active events that will enhance public safety.
Stetsons & Spurs members achieve this through participation in Operation Hawkeye (placement of flyers reminding motorists to keep vehicle doors locked and valuables out of sight), marching in parades, participating in community events while exposing them to the vast policing (and first responders) professions while building relationships between youth and the RCMP. The group also participates in a camp held at the Tim Hortons Camp in Tatamagouche. This camp will involve other youth from across Canada and the United States.
The Stetsons & Spurs program meets on a regular basis in Cole Harbour. Youth from the Cole Harbour, Eastern Passage, Lake Echo, Porter’s Lake, Lawrencetown, and surrounding areas are welcome to register.
To register you are asked to attend the following registration site:
