Halifax District RCMP Traffic Unit were out on Thursday in an effort to improve road safety in Lower Sackville.

During an hour and a half,​ 14 drivers were issued Summary Offence Tickets after members conducted a road safety pro-active on Sackville Dr.

Seven​ drivers were charged for using a handheld cellular device, five​ drivers were charged after being clocked at driving over​ 70 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone, and two drivers were charged for not wearing a seatbelt.

Halifax District RCMP remind motorists that speeding, distracted driving, not wearing a seatbelt and impaired driving, are the four causal factors of serious injury and fatal collisions in Nova Scotia.
