Halifax K9 Unit Takes A Bite Out Of Crime

One Halifax youth learned the hard way that breaking and entering could have some painful consequences.  Read on for the overnight crime report.

At 6:07 p.m. police responded to the area of the 100 block of Pinecrest Drive in relation to reported gunshots.  Upon arrival,officers found several casings, but could not locate a victim or any property damage.    There are no suspects or witnesses to the incident at this time and the investigation will continue today by members of the General Investigative Section.

Break and Enter

Police were called to an address on Trinity Ave in relation to a Break and Enter in progress.   The quick response led to five youths being arrested as they left the building.  A sixth suspect was arrested in the building by the K9 member who attended.  This suspect received a small bite to her leg that did not require medical attention.  The six youths , ranging in ages between 13 and 16  are facing charges of break and enter and property damage.   All are being held for court in the morning.
