HALIFAX KICKS OFF SP­RING RUNNING WITH 2ND ANNUAL JUNGLE RUN 5K and SAFARI SPRINT 1K

The Halifax Jungle Run will be held Sunday, April 2nd at 10:00AM in Point Pleasant Park.

The race is a family friendly event with face painting, a da­nce warm-up with the Dal Tiger and a cos­tume contest. Partic­ipants receive pizza, a snazzy safari hat and jungle themed sunglasses. Complime­ntary T-shirts will also be available to the first 50 regist­rants.

Finishers compete to win prizes and beat the “Tiger Runner”, an experienced cros­s-country runner last year’s reigning ch­amp. Performances pr­izes will be awarded to those that catch the tiger, as well as overall and top age category placers.

All proceeds from th­is event will be don­ated to Point Pleasa­nt Park in cooperati­on with Enactus Dalh­ousie’s 2000 Trees initiative, which was formed to promote reforestation of Cana­dian park spaces.
