Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division have charged a man in relation to a number of break and enters in Halifax, Dartmouth and Clayton Park.
On October 16 at 7:53 p.m., officers assigned to the Quick Response Unit of the Halifax Regional Police arrested 37-year-old Kirk Myers of Halifax in relation to six break and enters into apartment laundry rooms, as well as a break and enter into a parking garage. He was released from police custody on a Justice of a Peace Recognizance and will attend Halifax Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of break and enter, possession of break-in instruments and possession of instruments for breaking into coin-operated devices.
On October 18 at approximately 9:45 p.m., officers responded to a report that a man had broken into the laundry room of an apartment building in the 0-100 block of Pinecrest Drive in Dartmouth, and was being held there by the superintendent of the building. Officers arrived at the scene and arrested the man who was later identified as Kirk Myers. He was held in police custody and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial court to face charges in relation to this incident.
In total, Myers will face twenty-two break and enter related charges as well as two counts of breaching court orders.
