A 22 year old man from Halifax, has been charged with 2 counts of animal cruelty under the Animal Protection Act of NS.
The Nova Scotia SPCA has charged Presley Langille with causing a dog to be in distress contrary to section 21 (1) of the Animal Protection Act of NS. Langille was also charged with causing distress to a cat contrary to section 21 (1) of the Animal Protection Act of NS.
In October, 2017, SPCA officers received a complaint that a deceased cat was located at Langille’s residence. SPCA officers attended and it was determined that a cat had died at the residence. In early November, 2017, The NS SPCA received another complaint that a video involving Langille and his dog had been captured which brought SPCA officers to Langille’s residence again.
A full investigation had taken place and it was determined that charges were warranted under the Nova Scotia Animal Protection Act.
Langille is scheduled to appear in court on May 29, 2018 at the Halifax Provincial court house.
