Halifax News Menorah lighting to take place tonight in Grand Parade Square

Monday, Dec. 7, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – Mayor Mike Savage, members of Halifax Regional Council, Rabbi Feldman of the Chabad Lubavitch Organization, and distinguished guests will participate this evening in the annual lighting of the menorah in Grand Parade Square.

When: Monday, Dec. 7, 2015, 6 p.m.

Where: Grand Parade Square (reception to follow at 6:30 p.m. inside City Hall)

The large-scale menorah was initiated by the Chabad Lubavitch Organization to promote awareness and appreciation of Hanukkah.

Hanukkah is an eight-day Festival of Lights beginning on the Hebrew calendar date of 25 Kislev, which this year falls on December 6 through 14. A candle will be lit each additional night during Hanukkah.
