Halifax News Register for Free Skating Lessons

Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – Have you always wanted to learn to skate? Whether you’re a newcomer to Nova Scotia, a child just starting out or an adult who never learned, everyone is welcome to sign up for free skating lessons at the Emera Oval this winter.

The Halifax Regional Municipality has made it a priority to encourage healthy communities across the region. A big part of achieving that goal is ensuring affordable and accessible recreation programs for all residents.

The municipality is pleased to once again partner with the Canadian Tire Jumpstart program to offer free “I Love to Skate” classes to those who sign up. Registration opens at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9, and classes will begin in January. Those interested can http://www.halifax.ca/skatehrm/PublicSkating/LearntoSkate.php.
