Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016 (Halifax, NS) – A sure sign of colder temperatures and winter weather in the offing, the Halifax Public Gardens will be closing for the 2016 season at dusk on Saturday, Nov. 5.
As in years past, the Public Gardens will be open by chance during the winter months provided the pathways are clear and safe for travelling, and staff are available to provide facility access. Visitors are reminded that services in the Public Gardens will be limited during the winter season; there will be no washroom facilities and the coffee shop will be closed until the spring.
The Halifax Public Gardens is one of the finest surviving examples of a Victorian Garden in North America. It is one of the region’s most-loved and visited destinations, and is enjoyed each year by thousands of local residents and visitors.
