Basketball season is gearing up in Halifax again with the Halifax Rainmen set to take to the court in the National Basketball League of Canada's inaugural season. Their first pre-season game starts on the road tonight in PEI against the Summerside Storm. 

Haligonia's Antoine Abawajy was at the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame this week as local hoops legend 'T-Bear' Christian Upshaw was signed to the team along with five-year veteran Eric Crookshank. New head coach Josep 'Pep' Claros  has also arrived in the city and was introduced to members of the media.
