From RCMP:
On February 21st 2011 at approximately 8:50 AM, members of the Halifax District RCMP Lower Sackville Detachment were dispatched to a two vehicle collision located at the intersection of Sackville Drive and Beaver Bank Road. When members arrived on scene, they determined that a Buick Century had rear ended a Toyota Echo which had been stopped at a red light. There were no injuries as a result of the collision.

Members located a 50 year old male behind the wheel of the Buick and it was determined the male was impaired. The male subsequently provided breath samples that were 3 times the legal limit. The male has been charged with impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol over 80mgs%. He will appear in court at a later date.

The RCMP would like to remind motorists that impaired drivers can be on our roadways at all hours of the day. We would like to encourage the public to call 911 if they suspect an impaired driver and that they can remain anonymous.
