Halifax RCMP hosts ‘Ask a Mountie’ Twitter session about 2014/2015 priorities, Halifax Regional Municipality, N.S.

Halifax RCMP, with assistance from the Halifax Regional Board of Police Commissioners, will be hosting an ‘Ask a Mountie’ Twitter Session tomorrow, Friday, April 4, from 11 a.m.

to 1 p.m.

The purpose of the session will be to give citizens the opportunity to discuss various community topics in an effort to help the RCMP in Halifax determine its policing priorities for 2014/2015. Topics to be discussed include crime reduction, cybercrime and road safety.

Recently community consultation sessions were held throughout Halifax Regional Municipality with attendance from citizens, local councilors and government representatives.

‘This is just one more way we are trying to reach the communities we serve,’ said Chief Superintendent, Roland Wells, Officer in Charge of Halifax RCMP. ‘I encourage citizens to send along their thoughts and questions via twitter. The information gathered will help us determine our way forward.’

People following hashtag #hfxmountietalk or @RCMPNS on Twitter will be able to ask questions and interact directly with C/Supt. Wells and other members of the Halifax RCMP Senior Management Team and Halifax Regional Board of Police Commissioners.
