Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency recognizes its 500 volunteers

Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency (HRFE) is honouring through National Volunteer Week (April 15-21) the many brave men and women who give of their time as volunteer firefighters.

Many of our 51 stations throughout the municipality rely on volunteers to serve their community after finishing their “day job” – that’s a lot of days, nights, and weekends.

Our 530 volunteers are first responders for medical emergencies, fires, car accidents, and a myriad of other emergencies.

“In 2018 we celebrate the value of volunteering. Thank you to all of HRFE’s volunteers for all that you give to your community,” said Fire Chief Ken Stuebing. “Congratulations on building your confidence, competence, and connections.”

HRFE recognizes your contribution and thanks you, the volunteer, for making our community safer.
